Tredegar Town Council – your town council – was founded in 1974 when the Tredegar Urban District Council was disbanded. Over those forty plus years many clubs, societies and other organisations have benefited from the grants that Tredegar Town Council has provided.

Every year we host a special Christmas event to switch on Tredegar’s Christmas Lights; Our display is the envy of all around, and many visitors come in to Tredegar to see the lights and patronise our shops and cafes.

We take special pride in our Town Clock which, as part of the Open Doors event, we open up to the public giving a signed certificate to all that climb the three levels to the top inside the clock.

We ensure that the surrounds of the Clock are planted every season with colourful flowers to make it an even more attractive feature.
