Charity – Mind Cymru – Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent Branch

On 13th June 2024 Mr Glyn Evans, along with our Mayor Cllr Kevin Phillips, went to the Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent Branch of Mind Cymru, Phoenix Centre in Brynmawr to present the cheque for this Appeal.
On 7th June 2023, Councillor Glyn Evans was elected for a second Year in Office as Tredegar Town Mayor and each year the Mayor of Tredegar Town makes an Appeal on behalf of their chosen charity in the hope of raising funds to support their work in our community.
Cllr Glyn Evans said “This year I have chosen Mind Cymru as my Appeal recipient. I am aware that everyone is currently suffering from the effects of the cost-of-living crisis and that to add to the burden with this request could cause a problem. But if we all pull together, we will at the least provide help to those at a disadvantage in our community. Every penny is a little help towards keeping this wonderful service going.“
Mind Cymru – Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent Branch
Mind Cymru fight for support and respect for those dealing with mental health issues. They offer support via information, advice and local services whilst working on changing minds across Wales and England in a bid to make mental health an everyday priority. Mind Cymru are standing up to injustices – in work, healthcare and law – which make life harder for those with mental health problems and say “we won’t stop until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect”.
